There is something about claiming your Psyche and losing you Personality. This is especially so for the writers of new stories. Stories that will one day motivate and instruct. We must allow ourselves moments of being captured by the Muses (if not the Angels of Creativity- Archangel Gabrielle I'm looking at you!) and allow them to take us to the river's reflective waters in order to see that we aren't sheep; but lions.
Writers today have no excuse for not pushing the limits and midwifing, if not birthing, a new day with a new story. Joseph Campbell and Carl Jung were two ground breakers who crushed the divider which kept the storytellers from writers, in addition to, giving both the understanding of what made the myths and folklore of Ancient and Olden as transformational as they were/are. Not only did these gentlemen break barriers, but like any constructive elder, they laid foundation for the next generation. Now, don't misunderstand, I don't agree with everything that those two wild and crazy guys did, but I do get their intentions. The intentions point of origins I understand. I don't make the mistake of taking what they said out of the context in which they said it. Their biggie statement that get me is the proclamation stating -in not so many words- that women didn't necessarily having to go on a dragon slaying journey when the real dragon was the Shadow Self. But according to them the causes and motivations for the journey, women already had within them. So, they asked, why would women risk hide and hair to do the same thing that men were doing? I understand their thinking but time has proven their final decisions in this manner to be as solid as Darwin's decision about evolution. Yet, we cannot deny that we can combine the ideal journey these two gentlemen saw, and build a new. I, personally, stand on their shoulders and show them that the elixir which the feminine energy returns with is just as needed by the community- if not more so. I use strong feminine characters who believe in a force larger than themselves, use a weapon just as well as they use their wit, and most importantly these female characters strive pass the need to unite with and imitate the masculine. I'm certain that I'm not the only female writing myths for the human community. If I am then I invite you. Come jump in the deep end of the pool. With each day, I understand more about mythology of yesterday so I can contribute to the new myth that has been growing since the 1990s. The great myths of tomorrow for tomorrow. Those myths which still goes about penetrating the labyrinth of the earthling psyche whether it be a spiritual being having an earthly experience or an earthly being having a spiritual experience. That is the myth that I work for and on. And, I'm loving every moment. As Campbell would say, I've found my Bliss. May you find a good story to keep you motivated. Thanks for Listening Sabrina Louise Andielle

I know this isn't a secret, but I'm going to share for those of you swamped by the task of purchasing, let alone digesting, the many, many writers' books out there.
Here's what I do: I first check writers' books out at my Public Library here in Cleveland Ohio- which is part of the best public borrowing system ever, love it. I have my choice I can either go and hit up the well stocked main branch which is located downtown or I can go through the online catalog from the comfort of my home. Either way I come off like a fat rat in a cheese factory with no cats or traps. What I do, again, it's nothing new; I take my time and preview/review each book then I write a review and post my opinion on my blog. I'm careful to point out the excellent, juicy parts and skim over the rest. It must be a stinker for me to just flat out not like something. As an author who tries to stay on top of her game, I understands the blood, sweat, and tears that went into sharing some secrets. I'm discovering that there are a lot of fear-babies attempting to write for the public. I digress. When I write my reviews I share what I took away from the teachings of that author(s) plus if it's good and worthy then I go to the online thrift store for books and plop down my pennies and nickels for a copy. The current books I've added to my collection is Stealing Fire from the Gods and The Heroine's Journey. Both books are worth their cost; especially if you want to write something that is more original and groundbreaking. Now, I will admit that there are some books that I'm waiting for the price to drop. Just part of the publishing game and I know it, the publisher knows it, and hopefully the author knows it. But this system of renting then buying is helping me to streamline my personal Library and have a collection that I just love. What are you still doing here reading? Get to the library or the bookstore based off a book you checked out at the library and enter into a win/win situation with the author and yourself. Thanks for Listening Sabrina Louise Andielle I know that I didn't post anything in June 2018, but I was having numerous Coming to Jesus Meetings. This alchemist process of writing myths and combining not only symbols but lessons is pushing me.
I'm currently going through my Chinese Monkey God story with a fine tooth comb. I decided to do a short story on Greece's Hecate. Plus I'm developing the outline of The Mow Yen Chronicles; which is finally coming together. Three projects, all myths. Plus, I want to begin tossing my hat in the article writing ring. My calendar year is from July to June and I had an amazing first year. I wrote a novel and published a short story. I discovered that I could do this; now I believe that 2017-2018 will be the reviewed year which takes me aback to the very thing I originally asked/prayed for. Now 2018-2019 I plan to carry my cross and take another step along my road of dharma. I believe that we each hold a special piece of the puzzle. The Universe's story is our story I've bee told, and its destiny is our destiny. This kind of opened my eyes and made me surrender to my role; that and the fact that this will be the last year before my son heads off to college to be a video game designer. Good or bad, I'm starting to see that I was looking at the business of myth with rose-colored glasses. This is something that has received push-back from patriarchal structures. The entire business of telling myths was once the territory of women but it too fell under the domain of men. Not only that, those who are of the traditional religious way seem to think that this is something that is Gnostic. Which in a way they are right- but I wouldn't tell them that. Then there is the fact that I'm having reserved feelings about Maureen Murdock's Heroine's Journey and trying to put my own twist upon it. Plus Campbell, a genius yes, writer of mythology? Creator of Mythology? No. Then there is my journey to become a University Professor of this stuff. Again, carrying my own cross. Like most Great Initiations I'm in this all alone and others may offer help along the way but it's up to me to get this big wooden beam up the hill. I got Jesus on my side as well as a few others, so I have faith in me ad my journey. Well, I've poured enough tears for a post after a month's absence. I promise I'll . . . you get it. Thanks for Listening Sabrina Louise Andielle I have said that I write Metaphysical Fiction/Fantasy. Now I know that I want to use my writing to become part of the movement for social evolution. How you may ask? Well, I want to talk about the great God, EVERYTHING I AM, I AM EVERYTHING, truth, faith, wisdom & understanding, thought, freedom, concentration, and healing in a fantasy/fiction world, in a way that will enable my readers to evolve as individuals and a society.
Knowing this does so much for my creative streamlining and staying within my writing boundaries. Now I'm able to build upon the foundation that poured a couple of years ago. And, I just love the idea of seeing someone growing so this will boost my energy. I embrace growth of self and community. With me knowing my audience and who I'm generally talking to, I can do everything from outlining to marketing with an end in sight. It's the equivalent of knowing what you want in a partner when you're dating. I want that person who is ready to do deep inner work in a fun fashion. That's what I aim to give. Having this blows the research I did for marketing, you know, since I have published first short story and working toward other releases, out the professional artist water. For instance, I was told, "Metaphysical products are for everyone." That just doesn't sound right because not everyone is ready to do the inner work. It could just be me but I want the type of change and evolution which legends are made of. Which is another blog post in and of itself. The funnel is my friend, now. After all this time. Research and Development are my friends. I have made it to another benchmark. Thank the Heavenly bodies. Thanks for Listening! Sabrina Louise Andielle Well, I've put my sign up, and I'm open for business. Now all the book lovers will come and see me.
I wish it was that simple. Now, I get to concern myself with something other than creating and polishing my trinkets. Because I'm self-publishing just about everything I produce, I'm having a rude awakening because all the pieces of this puzzle aren't cooperating. I'm up to my neck in discovery of expectations of professionalism, I pray the mighty book publication gods won't come to me and tell me that I'm not worthy. But, then again, if they did label me a hack, I would ignore them and keep at it until I got a mastery of it- just the Capricorn in me. I tell you the first thing I realized is I have to become serious about this whole "For Sale" process. That means me, Sabrina, must come up with an author bio. Have you read my about page? (Side note: I'll be updating that soon.) I have no concept for talking in a none metaphysical, other worldly, manner. Don't believe me check out my personal blog www.windowview4sabrina.wordpress.com there you will see me in all my glory. My latest post is on me and Ancient Egyptian Religion; in particular Atum. Now I somehow must come up with something that can be smacked on the back of a book or (when I really get myself together) a "my own" website, which I paid for. Not asking much, are we? Being the professional in the making that I am, I went to Google to search for directions and templates. Without going into details, I found all I need for a newbie and for a pro. Meaning though I may complain, I will get on writing this bio and release it to the Cosmos- the One True God. I will find some way to dance a belly dance and run a smoke and mirrors show, until I get some weight on my belt. Now that I've written this I see that an Author's Bio isn't that bad, it's just the tip of an iceberg; I'm no Titanic I tell you, I refuse to sink. And, with that said; when I come to you asking does this bio make my ego look big don't say anything, because you've been warned. Thanks for Listening! Sabrina Louise Andielle Never before have I experienced Microsoft Word like I'm experiencing it right now- and I've had Office for going on nine years now. I'm loving this software like I've just purchased it and I have brought other writing programs in the past. But this, as I'm working on my Final manuscript of Lady Agape and The New Dimension, is coming in handy for organization and simplicity. That's all you need. Too much slack in the rope and you'll be pulled into the Creative Currents and tossed about like a toy boat in a child's bath.
It could also be that I'm pleased with the development of my final product. I've been working hard on this for a while now and it's starting to manifest into the form that I prayed for- a true full length metaphysical, 400-page novel. Yes, I pray over my stories. I need Divine help, especially since I believe that everything falls into place as we follow our divine calling. That's all, I don't want to keep you too long; just had to recommend the software of Microsoft Word to anyone looking to organize their thoughts into sections, documents, and folders. Thanks for listening -Sabrina Louise Andielle P.S. Look for a sample of my work on this blog, soon. One of the more difficult things for me to do, as a Metaphysical/Visionary/Spiritual Fiction storyteller, having a guideline to align my stories. This means that often I would find myself rambling and therefore having to complete revision after revision in order to have some symbolism of a streamlined story, a tight story. In other words, I often found myself chasing my tail.
Well, I've been at this Visionary Fiction thing for about eight months now; trust me, it's truly an emerging genre I've latched on to. As I've spent weeks and months so far searching, not only to put my work in a knowledgeable position where I am comparing other writers and titles to myself to, but to also get a feel for what readers of the genre want, I'm finding that there are only a handful of successful, working writers engaged in this art form. But what Visionary Fiction lacks in numbers she makes up for in creativity, heart, and determination.
I've really been doing my research in order to tighten up the manuscript of my second novel. The first thing I learned (and did) was to introduce the characters, the setting, and the conflict. Since I know the complete story already it was a easier to plug the information in according to the books on writing that I have read. You know the mighty foreshadowing of what's to come without telling how it's coming.
I streamlined everything and presented myself as the author. In other words I set the tone for the story and as a new voice I introduced myself with my various length of paragraphs, word selection, and variety in characters all within 53 pages. Not really a hero's journey, although Agape goes within and face off with her inner child and the archetypal energy of survival in order to graduate from this vibration of the without. I have to keep in mind that this is visionary fantasy so the rules are a little different and not everyone is going to dig it. Nonetheless without any excuse, YOU MUST TELL A STORY FIRST and I believe I have a good one that's original and filling; then I hit you with the metaphysical stuff. The first draft is a solid foundation for what's to come and I'm excited and looking forward to sharing my character driven story containing a strong plot with the world. -Thanks for Listening Sabrina-Louise Andielle I'll be brief and quick with this because I'm on a mission.
See I'm just under 10,000 words to finishing the first draft of Lady Agape and The New Dimension and I want to knock that out as quick as my creativity will allow. I've sat with this manuscript for a couple of months now, writing almost every day for four to six hours a day. So, I have a good feel for what I'm trying to say about this young college professor named Agape D'Vine who enters her inner domain on the astral dimension in order to rescue her inner child; break a time loop that is prolonging the death of a planet within her; and face off with a fraction of the archetypal energy of transformation. I know that I'm still close to this story but it's about time to start Lady Agape and The Divine Find. Isn't it? While I'm finishing The New Dimension, shouldn't I be making plans for The Divine Find. No? I mean I could try to pants it but I did a combination of outlining and pantsing with The New Dimension. I know where The Divine Find begins and ends so I only have to channel the middle. It did take months to outline The New Dimension and knowing this I still want as small amount of time as possible to pass before tackling its theme and second draft. Things were easier when I just had one project to focus on and others just to think about. Now my time is being stretched like never before and I'm finding myself with less time in the day to waste. That's the price you pay when you go the self-publishing route. It's a business and I have to be on the grind. Stories, sound stories, are important but so is the business aspect of it. The planning, the execution, and the harvesting of something that came from the divine to me then to the readers. Now I see, thanks for the advice. I see that I need to speed a little time organizing before this thing get ahead of me. Before it become a burden and I lose the joy of creation and sharing. So no, it's not too early. I just need to reschedule my day, shake off the burden, and go with the joy and flow of being my own boss with my own deadlines. I'm not a slacker and I want to share my form of worship to the ineffable with the whole world. That's worth taking my time to figure it out. Besides I'm in the Hanged Man position right now- best to make the most of it. -Thanks for Listening Sabrina-Louise Andielle |
